Welcome to Hinsdale, New Hampshire

The Town of Hinsdale is located in Cheshire County in the Southwest Region of the State of New Hampshire. The close proximity to Keene, N.H. and Brattleboro, Vt. ensures your business the local support it needs.

Hinsdale has a total land area of 14,497 acres. The topography is dominated by steep valleys running in a southwestern direction from the northeast corner of town. The defining features are the river valleys which are created by the flows of the Ashuelot and Connecticut Rivers. The population is roughly 4,200; with an unemployment rate of approximately 3.2%. Our northern New England location provides us with an average temperature of 71.1°(F) in July, a January average of 19°(F), and annual precipitation of nearly 44.5 inches.

Hinsdale has added many new businesses over the past several years. Route 119 is a major road running through the town and includes large retailers like Wal Mart and smaller retail stores such as Atlas Fireworks and Shippee Auto. Monument Road is another major connecting road in town and is the long-standing home to many manufacting commpanies. Downtown Hinsdale, with its new recreation center, continues to offer authentic New England charm with its historic churches, post office and Town Hall.
